In the townhome areas, curb painting is scheduled for November 1st (rain date November 2nd.) Please remove all cars from all curbs by 7:00AM. Any vehicle not removed from curbs is subject to towing.
ATTN: On Killarney Terrace, the parking spaces directly in front of the playground will now become Visitor-Only spaces. All vehicles must be removed for the painting project. Please note that any homeowner or long term guest is NOT permitted to park in Visitor-Only spaces. Doing so will result in towing without warning.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department will be providing additional patrols in preparation of and during Halloween activities taking place throughout the county to deter criminal activity and help ensure that citizens have a safe Halloween. Residents can expect a visible police presence in the form of P.A.C.T. (Police and Community Together) Unit officers, available Bike Patrol officers and Reserve officers, who will have red lights flashing on their vehicles along with customary patrol vehicles. In addition, DWI saturation patrols will be operating throughout the holiday weekend. Anne Arundel County does not designate an “official” trick or treating day or time, but some communities may organize their own halloween programs.
Halloween is a treasured tradition with the intention of fun and excitement for children, but unintended consequences can result from a lack of preparation for the evening. It is important that citizens take several precautionary measures to ensure that all children have a safe experience. The Anne Arundel County Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind people of the following safety tips: Read more…

The Board of Directors’ have received many questions over the past years asking for clarification of wording and verbiage included in the Architectural (ARC) Guidelines. To provide clarity the Covenants Committee and Board of Directors have revised some of the rules and regulations while remaining compliant with the HOA Governing Documents; DCCR, Bylaws, and Articles of Incorporation. Please find a complete and updated version of the communities ARC guidelines here:
A priority of the Board of Directors was to not overstate, or impose more stringent regulations than those directed and substantiated by the governing documents. ARC Guidelines are used as an easy tool to understand the specifics embedded within the overarching governing documents, all changes in verbiage have been reviewed by the Association’s attorney to ensure the guidelines are compliant. The Anne Arundel County Police department is continuing to see a steady pattern of theft from vehicles in the Crofton, Gambrills, and Odenton (Piney Orchard) areas.
Please note this message from the Western District:
We can not emphasize enough how important and simple it is to lock your vehicle’s doors and to remove expensive and portable electronic items from plain view in your vehicle.
Please use the social networking buttons associated with this message to help us spread the word to your friends and neighbors.
Here is the message again:
Over the past several weeks we have noticed several theft from auto sprees in several communities in the Western District.
A theft from auto spree is where several vehicles are broken into in a community over a short period of time (usually during the overnight hours). Generally, these thieves will roam a community, do their deeds, and then move on to the next community or move to another area all together.
While theives will roam a neighborhood with the intent to steal from vehicles, this is still a crime of opportunity as the thieves target vehicles that are left unlocked; and vehicles where valuable property (i.e. GPS, purses, lap tops, etc.) is left in plain view.
Please don’t be a victim of theft from your vehicle….
It CAN happen to YOU !!!!!!
LOCK YOUR DOORS
REMOVE VALUABLE PROPERTY
IF POSSIBLE PARK IN WELL LIT AREAS
REPORT SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR

“Turn Around – Do Not Drown!”
From the National Weather Service (9/7/2011 3:15 p.m.):
…A FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT FOR WESTERN BALTIMORE…NORTHERN PRINCE GEORGES…NORTHWESTERN ANNE ARUNDEL…EASTERN HOWARD AND EASTERN CARROLL COUNTIES…
AT 305 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED ONLY LIGHT RAIN REMAINED OVER THE AREA. HOWEVER…EARLIER WIDESPREAD RAIN OF THREE TO FIVE INCHES CONTINUES TO CAUSE STREAMS TO OVERFLOW WITH NUMEROUS ROADS FLOODED AND CLOSED. EVACUATIONS ARE ALSO UNDERWAY IN ELLICOTT CITY.
ON THE STREAMS…THE LITTLE PATUXENT RIVER AT GUILFORD AND SAVAGE IS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL RECORDED SINCE 2006…AND STILL RISING. AT GUILFORD…THE HIGHEST LEVEL EVER RECORDED WAS 18.38 FEET IN JUNE 1972. THE CURRENT LEVEL IS 13.6 FEET AND RISING AT A FOOT AND A HALF PER HOUR. THE PATAPSCO RIVER…AND SMALL STREAMS THAT FEED INTO THESE LARGER RIVERS…ARE ALSO SIGNIFICANTLY ELEVATED DUE TO THE RAINFALL.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE…TURN AROUND…DONT DROWN.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FLOOD WATERS. ONLY A FEW INCHES OF RAPIDLY FLOWING WATER CAN QUICKLY CARRY AWAY YOUR VEHICLE.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health, along with Wildlife Services of the United States Department of Agriculture, will begin its annual Raccoon Oral Rabies Vaccine Project on September 7, 2011. Completion should occur by the end of September, weather permitting. The goal of the project is to immunize thousands of wild raccoons by placing baits containing rabies vaccine throughout Anne Arundel County. This year, approximately 70,000 baits will be spread throughout Anne Arundel County. Immunizing the raccoon population helps to reduce the number of rabid animals and the human and pet exposures to rabies.
In 2010, Anne Arundel County reported 14 cases of terrestrial (ground dwelling) animal rabies. This is considerably less than the 71 reported in 1998 and 96 in 1997. This decrease is partly due to the success of the Raccoon Oral Rabies Vaccination Project on the Annapolis Peninsula, which began in October 1998. The project added the Broadneck Peninsula in 2001, and it expanded to cover the entire County in 2003.
