Mosquito spraying begins June 11th: between 7:30 PM and 2:00 AM

This year our community’s assigned night of the week for adult mosquito control services is Monday.  Spraying will occur anytime during the hours of 7:30 PM and 2:00 AM.  Please note that spraying will not necessarily occur at the same time every week.  Services will start beginning on June 11th and run through September.

If you wish to opt out of this service, please fill out the exemption form at http://www.mda.state.md.us/pdf/mcsprayexemption.pdf.  Please note that if you’ve already filled out this form in previous years you do not need to fill it out again.

Surveillance of adult mosquitoes in communities with a history of moderate to high mosquito populations may be conducted on a weekly basis. Communities with a history of low mosquito populations may be monitored less frequently.  The density of a mosquito population will be measured by landing rate counts (LRC’s) and portable light traps.  Spraying takes place when the density of mosquitoes reaches a standard threshold and weather conditions are conductive to successful mosquito control.
