Advisory: Theft from Autos continue in our area…Lock your vehicle! Remove Valuables!

The Anne Arundel County Police department is continuing to see a steady pattern of theft from vehicles in the Crofton, Gambrills, and Odenton (Piney Orchard) areas.

Please note this message from the Western District:

We can not emphasize enough how important and simple it is to lock your vehicle’s doors and to remove expensive and portable electronic items from plain view in your vehicle.

Here is the message again:

Over the past several weeks we have noticed several theft from auto sprees in several communities in the Western District.

A theft from auto spree is where several vehicles are broken into in a community over a short period of time (usually during the overnight hours). Generally, these thieves will roam a community, do their deeds, and then move on to the next community or move to another area all together.

While theives will roam a neighborhood with the intent to steal from vehicles, this is still a crime of opportunity as the thieves target vehicles that are left unlocked; and vehicles where valuable property (i.e. GPS, purses, lap tops, etc.) is left in plain view.

Please don’t be a victim of theft from your vehicle….

It CAN happen to YOU !!!!!!

LOCK YOUR DOORS

REMOVE VALUABLE PROPERTY

IF POSSIBLE PARK IN WELL LIT AREAS

REPORT SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR
