Grill Safety Reminder

Please exercise caution when using grills or fire pits; in the past 2 months, three townhomes in our area have caught fire as a result of grill fires. In Anne Arundel County, grills and other open flame devices must be 15 feet from any structure. See http://www.aacounty.org/Fire/FireMarshal/FMOCode/Grills.cfm.
To be more precise, this statute applies only to residences that are not “one or two family dwellings,” so it does not apply to single family homes. In any event, fire safety is about common sense and responsibility, so all should be aware of the risks and exercise the utmost caution in any residential setting.
